Cascara promotes the principles of circular economy by processing the usually discarded peel of the coffee fruit and repurposing it to be brewed as a fruity loose leaf tea.
I designed the packaging identity for Specialty Cascara developed by Subko Coffee.
Due to the exotic status of Cascara, it was crucial to give a proper introduction, explain how it is processed and how to brew it briefly. Along with creating an original illustration of the Coffee Cherry plant, I added a pictorial representation of the steps by which Cascara is obtained. The brewing guide goes inside the flap, saving space on the exterior of the box.
To promote and educate people about Cascara, Subko launched a Cascara-focused merch lineup (exclusively available in-store). This included lapel pins, glass tumblers and t-shirts. Every Cascara box comes with a bespoke postcard and sticker.
