Moshimbo - a Goa based design studio, collaborated with a printing press to turn waste paper into diaries under the name 'I did my bit'. I created a physical paper collage for it's cover.
I am a big hoarder of thrash which greatly helped me when I designed this collage, since I could easily add certain unusual pieces that elevated the scene.
Artists are naturally inclined to experiment, and paper collages offer a good platform for creative exploration. To infuse intrigue into the collage piece, I introduced a few 3D elements. I started with a vibrant collage background composed of magazine cutouts and textured paper. Adding intricately folded paper cranes, cotton for clouds and a nest made up of paper shreds with paper eggs. This fusion of 3D and 2D elements added a sense of dynamism to the collage. It was later photographed and tweaked digitally to raise it up a notch.
