Subko wished to gift coffee aficionados coffee beans to celebrate their Robusta coffee launch. The team wanted to create something small that would fit in the coffee box but at the same time become a conversation starter in the coffee community.
The team helped me fabricate my concept to put coffee beans in a blister (pill) pack. The core communication on the pack is focused on distinguishing the visual features of Arabica and Robusta beans.
Subko wanted to design a giveaway piece to raise awareness about Robusta (coffee species). While working as a part of Subko's design team, I discovered that coffee enthusiasts are highly appreciative of packaging design and other visual design accessories such as stickers, postcards, and pins that are part of the unboxing-experience. So, creating a collateral that could be added inside the coffee box made apt sense for a Robusta-centric collateral. Though the challenge was that it had to be tiny enough to fit inside the box and at the same time be informative and intriguing.
The collateral had to explain the visual differences between the two types of coffee beans, Robusta and Arabica. After numerous rounds of brainstorming with the team, we decided to go ahead with my blister pill pack design because it provided a clear adjacent view of the two different coffee species. I arranged the blisters so that information about the bean's shape could be inscribed around it.
